The Valley Knights

The Valley Knights are the Knights of Columbus comprized of 4 Councils and 1 Assembly:

Council # 670 Saint Francis of Assisi in Staunton Grand Knight, Ed Marvec

Council # 9286 James Madison University in Harrisonburg  Grand Knight, Brian Shukie

Council # 9488 Father Edward W. Johnston in Harrisonburg Grand Knight Larry Meyer

Council # 10760 Heart of the Valley in Waynesboro Grand Knight, Melsee Jones

Assembly # 2237  The Shenandoah Valley Assembly in Harrisonburg Faithful Navigator, Timothy Kenney

These knights are service driven, with family values.  Where there is a need, you will  find a Knight some how involved.  Programs fall under 6 catagories Church, Community, Council, Family,Youth and Pro-Life.

All 4 councils are big supporters of Camp Still Meadows, a camp for the retarded.  It is a day camp and has been helping, by improving, the quality of life for these special people for several years.  One of the missions, that the Valley knights have taken on, is to help expand the camp and make it grow, so more people can share in the enjoyment.  Of course all the Knights help, through KOVAR, (Knight Of Virginia Assisting the Retarted)  This is the Tootsie Roll hand out in December, (around Christmas) and better known around the end of April.  They hand out Tootsie Rolls and accept donations from those who wish to contribute.   

Valley Knights meet twice a month to plan out future events and to take care of any unfinished or new business.  The Schedule of meetings are as follows:

Saint Francis of Assisi in Staunton, Meets 1st & 3rd Mondays every month at 7:00PM

James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Meets 1st & 3rd Sundays every month at 6:30 PM

Fr. Edward W. Johnston in Harrisonburg Meets 2nd & 4th Tuesdays every month at 7:00 PM

Heart of the Valley in Waynesboro Meets 2nd & 4th Wednesdays every month at 7:00 PM

The Shenandoah Valley Assembly in Harrisonburg Meet the 4th Thursday month at 7&:00 PM July,November, March and in Stasunton also on the 4th Thursday but in September, January, & May.  Socials are held in the months inbetween business meetings oAugust, October, December, February, April & June

Each meeting is started with a Rosary devotion.
